| Sudden Love |
| From: orbit |
They had left the party together, unnoticed, and were now sitting together in the crowded lounge. The man began to trace the edge of his martini glass absently.
Slowly a faint hum started emanating. A resonate vibration.
“I saw this in a commercial, set in the North Pole.”
"It’s crystal," she said. “You don’t always see that in bars.”
He dipped his finger in the vodka and traced it along her lips, freezing them for a second.
They kissed and laughed.
“That was a good drink,” he noted.
They both had the same things on their minds -- the Bay Bridge and the fact that they were both suddenly in love with each other.
It had been 14 days before when they had fallen in love, the way people do sometimes. She was en route from finishing a divorce from a rather nasty husband, and he had known her for years but kept his hands to himself.
It was because of the bridge that he was delayed and had run into her at the gas station, needing a ride because of a broken down car.
Like most coincidences, a moment before or a moment after, and he wouldn’t have seen her.
